Percussion Family 

There are a number of different percussion instruments. These change dependent on musical style, culture or type of ensemble. Sometimes the instrument is the same but the name changes (for example a snare drum is also known as the side drum). The two main types of percussion are tuned and untuned.

Tuned Percussion:
- Xylophone
- Marimba
- Glockenspiel
- Vibraphone
​- Timpani

Untuned Percussion:
- Snare Drum/Side Drum
- Bass Drum
- Triangle
- Tambourine
- Cymbal

World Music Percussion:
- Djembe
- Balafon
- Tabla
