Headphones do not need to be expensive ones. If you got a set with your phone – these are usually acceptable. The only ones that won’t work are the newer iPhone headphones with a flat connector (the connector must be some sort of ‘jack’ connection. Music Technology students may want to save up and buy some higher quality headphones later in the year as they will be using them a lot throughout their two years at College.

 

All students of acting and dance will need to buy a black SJR Performing Arts T-Shirt at the start of the year but we try and keep the cost of these as low as possible (usually around £7). The reason behind these t-shirts and clothing requirements is to make you look as professional as possible and to start you off in the way you would at drama / dance schools and in the professional world of performing arts. These pieces of clothing also make practical work much easier and are much safer for you against accidents etc. The department will not make any money from selling the clothing to you, we sell it back to you at cost price from the manufacturer and, as previously stated, we will provide this to you as cheap as possible.

 

SJR Performing Arts hoodies will be available to buy for ALL students in the department and we will send notice out of this at the beginning of the year too.
